Pellet Mills: Feed pellet mills and pelletizing equipment (including portable) is used to produce animal feed pellets from grain and agriculture products. Pellet mills are widely used in animal feed (agrifeed) and fish food (aquafeed) production feed mill plants. 

 

Functional description of pelletizing equioment

Animal feed pellet mill are used to produce pellets for animal feed,such as fish food (aquafeed) from prepared feedstock grains(alfalfa, barley, corn, malt, oats, soybean, etc.).  Pellet mills vary in capacity,different capacity equipments,different power,drive engine. 

 

The pellets are made by compacting the feedstock through ring die hole.  The die holes are round and the pellets are pushed from the inside out by rollers.  The pellets are formed as a continuous “rod” and cut to length by a knife at the periphery of the die.

 

Pellet mills have one or more conditioning units mounted above where liquids can be added to improve pellet quality.  Water is sometimes added in the form of steam resulting in uniform and firmer pellets.

 

From the conditioner, the raw material falls into the pellet machine.In the pellet mill, rollers and feed ploughs push the material through the ring die hole.The ring die is either stationary and rollers rotate around the inner surface of the die.Outer knives cut the pellets to suitable length.
